Here comes another first impression. This time I tried the free sample of the By Terry Light-Expert Click Brush Illuminating Flawless Foundation Brush. By Terry sent me the shade 2 Apricot Light which doesn’t quite match my skin tone but at the end, it turned out not too bad despite being the wrong shade for me. FYI I’m a MAC NW10 which means I’m pale and my skin has a cool undertone.
Let’s first read the description on the By Terry website:
“Our revolutionary Light-Expert foundation features an ingenious brush that guarantees flawless skin with every stroke, even for makeup novices. With a single click, the brush releases the ideal amount of lightweight formula for coverage, concealing redness, blemishes and dullness. A practical, easy-to-apply makeup bag staple for an instantly luminous result.
– Next-generation anti-aging foundation with a highly concentrated skincare formula.
– Smoothing Hyaluronic Acid microspheres cover imperfections and plump fine lines for an instant lifting effect.
– Seven anti-ageing ingredients (phytosterols, phytosteroids, ursolic acid, isoflavones, policosanols, pro-vitamin A, vitamin E) form a rejuvenating catalyst, providing long-term protection against the signs of ageing.”.
Price EUR 52.00 for 19.5 ml.
Please note that I got a sachet and not the brush which of course is the full size. Therefore I can’t judge how the brush performs. I used my fingers to put on the foundation and I must say that I’m very impressed. It goes on smooth and is very creamy. The foundation doesn’t settle in the fine lines and no patchiness except around my nose which is quite normal for me. I’ve an oily combination skin and I really like the texture of this foundation. As you can see in the pictures I’ve a lot of pigmentation marks, blemishes and redness and the foundation didn’t cover them. Even my concealer wasn’t able to cover them all up (last picture/the ripe apricot).
Will I purchase the full size? Maybe. I don’t know how the brush works and I’ would have to go to a store to get the right shade. Because I’m very pale it isn’t easy to find the right colour. Some brands don’t have very light colours and sometimes even the lightest shade is still too dark for me. If you’re pale too you certainly know what I’m talking about. Because I already have a few foundations that I’m very pleased with I won’t buy the full size but if you’re in the market for a new foundation it’s worth trying this out. In this case, I would highly recommend to go to a store and have it applied with the brush. Only then you’ll know how it performs and what kind of finish you get.
This is, of course, my own opinion based on my skin type, and therefore I can’t guarantee that you’ll get the same result.
This isn’t sponsored. I received this sachet as a free sample with my recent purchase.
