I recently rediscovered the German nail polish brand Alessandro International. Have you ever heard of this brand? I definitely had but not in a good way. Several years ago I bought a stunning purple nail polish but as soon as I read the ingredients I throw the bottle away because it contained one of the nasty ingredients. Since then I never looked at this brand again.
A few weeks ago I was shopping at Manor (a department store chain in Switzerland) and I was attracted by the label on the nail polishes bottles saying 6 free 100% Vegan. If you aren’t familiar with the term (6 free) it means that the polish doesn’t contain these 6 bad ingredients for your health: Touluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, parabene and xylol. Well, finally they changed their formula and I’m very pleased.
If you don’t know this brand has such a big variety of colours and type of polishes. I was interested in the regular nail polish, not Striplac or gel. I looked at all the shades and picked this Rosy Wind which is a pinkish brown. This nail polish is made in France. For me, it’s the perfect transition colour from Winter to Spring or from Summer to Autumn/Fall.
Let’s now take a closer look at the cap. As you can see in the pictures the cap has 3 raised lines on each side which make the process of opening the bottle much easier. You can easily pick up the bottle by putting your fingers in the 2 oval shaped holes in the cap (they’re under the two labels). I call them holes but they aren’t actually holes but I don’t know how to call them, sorry. Here is when the phrase “A picture is worth a thousand words” comes handy.
Another bonus is the brush. It allows you to cover streak free the entire nail with 3 strokes which is the best method to paint your nails. One in the middle and one at each side. The polish dries very fast and doesn’t smell too strong. I like to paint my nails in the bathroom with the window open. When I was younger I used to paint them in my bedroom. Not a good idea because you’ll still smell the lacquer the next day and inhale it the whole night. Please don’t do that even if it’s a 6 free polish.
According to the brand you don’t need a base coat with this polish because it won’t stain your nails. Therefore you can skip this step. Yeah! I put 2 thin coats on and a clear top coat (the pictures were taken with no top coat on). It lasted 7 days which is excellent for a nail polish. Of course, it depends on what you’re doing. If you’re cleaning the house or working in the garden it certainly won’t last 7 days. Let’s just be clear here. Don’t expect miracles.
I paid CHF 16.95 approx. £ 8.90 / EUR 9.99 for 10 ml / 0.34 Fl. Oz. I can highly recommend this nail polish and I’ll definitely buy it in other colours too.
It isn’t sponsored. I bought the product myself and paid for it with my own money.
Have you used this nail polish? Please let me know in the comments below. I’d like to hear your opinion.
Thanks for reading my post, and have a wonderful time.
