Hello everybody!

Are you already familiar with this great Decleor Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream? No? Ok, then I should, first of all, tell you that it’s a face exfoliator but not an ordinary one. I’m quite sure that when you saw the word exfoliator the first thing that sprung into your mind was grains.

I know, I know most of us associate micro-beads with a body or face exfoliator. It’s hard to believe, but this Phytopeel Exfoliating Cream contains no abrasive particles. Therefore it’s absolutely suitable for everyone, no matter if your skin is very oily or sensitive. Not everybody is keen on grains and if you’re one of those people this Phytopeel Cream is an excellent alternative. Wait a moment – you said at the beginning Aroma Cleanse and now Phytopeel? I’m confused. Are you talking about two products? No, it’s one. Decleor Paris Aroma Cleanse Phytopeel Exfoliating Cream. OK, I got it.

Who is Decleor?

As you might have guessed from the brand name, Decleor is a French brand. This Parisian Company has been around for over 40 years and is the trusted expert and innovator when it comes to aromatherapy skincare. Decleor selects and blends premium essential oils to deliver targeted and proven skincare solutions for each skin need. Their products offer a unique sensorial experience, no exception with this Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream.

What does an exfoliator for the face?

Please don’t think that it’s just another marketing invention to make us spend more money because it’s not. There’s a reason why exfoliators exist and why we should use them.

The cells of our skin are renewed approx. every 30 days. If we don’t remove the dead skin cells they start to build up and can clog our pores. For people with acne prone skin, this could even aggravate the problem and increase the oil production. Here is when an exfoliator like the Decleor Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream is very helpful because it’ll gently buff away all the skin impurities.

Do you want a healthy and fresh looking skin? Then you definitely should take into consideration implementing a face exfoliator into your skincare routine. Are you sceptical and not entirely sure? Don’t worry, because you’re not alone. More about that at the end of this blog post.

What are the benefits of using a face exfoliator?

The major benefit is that after exfoliating, your skin will be very smooth to the touch, fresh, radiant and healthy. You’ll also notice a more regular skin texture, especially if your skin is oily and uneven. However, as with everything, you need to be consistent otherwise, the results won’t last. Oh, I think we’re missing something here. Any idea what it could be? Yeah, the smell. I haven’t told you about the stunning fragrance. Well, let’s dive in immediately.

As I mentioned in the second paragraph Decleor is well known for its aromatherapy oils and skincare. All of their products have an amazing smell. You’re really looking forward to using them. In my opinion, there’s nothing better than applying a face exfoliating cream or mask at the end of a long day and inhaling the soothing aromas. Very relaxing indeed. Don’t you agree? I’ve been using this Phytopeel Exfoliating Cream for over a decade now and I’m still fond of the relaxing scent of Thyme oil.

How to use the Decleor Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream?

How to use Decleor Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream

It’s very important to clean your face before applying an exfoliator. I use the La Prairie Foam Cleanser. If you’re interested in that product you can read my review here (this is not an affiliate link). Ideally, you should use the Decleor Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream once or twice a week. This exfoliating cream contains green clay and is enriched with essential oil of Thyme.

Start with tying back your hair or use a headband to keep your hair out of your face. You don’t want the exfoliator to get stuck in your hair. Apply a not too thin layer onto your skin and face, avoiding the eye area. Let it dry slightly and then start exfoliating using gentle upward circular movements. Try to support your skin when exfoliating to avoid moving your skin around too much. No need to use a lot of pressure because the exfoliating cream will roll off easily. At the end use a lotion to remove the excess product or use water to rinse it off.

Before starting to exfoliate put kitchen paper in the sink if you’ll be removing the product in your bathroom. It’s important to cover up the place where you choose to buff off the product or you’ll create a little bit of a mess.

Price of the Decleor Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream

Approx. CHF 49.00 / $ 22.77 / £ 22.50 / EUR 32.95 for 50 ml / 1.69 Fl. oz. I would say it’s in a medium price range and for me well worth the money. I can highly recommend it to everyone who wants an effective face exfoliator with a stunning smell.

My Story

As promised above, let me tell you what I thought of face exfoliators approx. 25 years ago. At that time my skin was very oily with lots of breakouts. Eating too much chocolate didn’t help either. Every time my esthetician told me to start exfoliating my face I didn’t believe her. I just thought – oh yes, of course, she wants me to buy her products so that she can make more money. How wrong was I!

Believe it or not, it took me several years before I bought my first face exfoliator. Guess what – I didn’t buy it from her but in the supermarket. But as you might know, from your own experience, buying a product and not using it regularly won’t deliver good results. In other words, it’s like throwing money out the window. That was exactly what happened to me. It was a tube with a picture of an apricot. No doubt, it looked nice on my bathroom shelf. At least that.

As I got older, and my mind also changed a little bit – ha ha ha -, I bought another face exfoliator and finally applied it every week. Believe me, I did see results. I discovered the Decleor Aroma Cleanse Exfoliating Cream about 10 years ago through QVC UK and since then I use it. However, I also have another scrub that contains a lot of beads that I use regularly. It’s not from Decleor but from another brand. I like to switch between these two.

    1. Oh yes, they are very gentle and can be used even by people with sensitive skin. You don’t find them very easily.
